About
I started photography in the '80s whilst still at school. My initial introduction was via my Grandfather who gave me his darkroom kit and an old camera. Fortunately, my parents had a 'craft room' which I soon converted into a pretty decent darkroom and spent what little money I had on photographic chemicals and paper and began to experiment with black & white developing and printing.

My uncle then got me into Minota cameras when he bought a Minolta 7000. This was an impressive bit of kit and I just had to get one. I ended up buying myself a Minolta 7xi - well, in fact my father bought it for me (taking up my present 'allowance' for birthday and Christmas for a year or two!!!). After that, it was a Minolta Dynax 7 which I bought for myself in the year 2000. Then, for almost 10 years, my photography all but stopped.

However, during a weekend in London in 2004 with some old school friends (a weekend primarily for beer!) I bought a Canon Ixus 40 on Tottenham Court Road. Although this was my first digital camera, it wasn't the first in the family. Back in 1997, my father bought an Olympus Camedia 400L which was an amazing device - no film!!!

My Canon Ixus 40 got the photo bug back in me and I soon realised that I needed a more advanced camera. I turned to the Canon G11 in late 2009. This quickly got me back into 'real' photography and then set my mind thinking of digital SLRs. That led me to the Canon EOS 7D and I haven't looked back since.

Who knows what the future will hold for my photography?!...

Originally from Pembrokeshire, I'm now based in Rochester, Kent, so a lot of my photographs are taken down here in the South East of England.
