Now is the winter of our discontent... William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616) |
Welcome |

Welcome to my site! Just a small nondescript place where I put things. Not a blog, nothing more than a convenient place to keep information and links which may be of interest to friends and acquaintances (and to those of you I don't know!). |

I've had this domain for a long time and over the years I've basically just let it lie. I haven't actively kept it up to date and for the majority of the time it's just been dormant with obsolete content. In April 2007, I thought I'd refresh it and upload some new content. Some of the old content will remain available in the Archive but most of it has been removed. The old intro video is here. |
Cycling |
|
|
Going green, saving money, keeping fit - some of the reasons why I bought a new bike on the 26th of June 2008. It's not primarily a fitness thing (I run regularly for that) so I was looking for practicality rather than performance. With limited storage space, I opted for a folding bike from Dahon. Take a look at my 'Dave on Dahon' blog for more information. |

Gone are the days of developing my own black and white film and prints; the 35mm cameras haven't been out for many years; all that sees the light of day now is my small Canon Ixus40. I've been uploading some of my snaps to my Flickr account over the past few months and I'm enjoying getting back into things. Getting out on the bikes gives me the opportunity to take more photos. Keep checking back for the latest snaps. Sometimes I don't have my camera with me so my mobile phone gets called into service. My Nokia E51's camera is pretty poor and struggles with things... ahh, I miss the auto focus on my Sony Ericsson W810i. |
XBox |
|
|
Having been out of the XBox scene for a few years, I recently bought an XBox360. It's nice to be back! The old battle team will once more be online. I sense that there will be many hours of 'non-blinking' entertainment ahead. Find me on XBox Live via my gamertag DSQUK. I was DSQ when I was first online with the XBox but I couldn't recover that tag and it may have been released and taken by someone else. |

Temperature and Humidity Data |
In a gadget-buying mood sometime in 2006, I purchased a La Crosse WS8610 Data Logger from the Weather Shop. I was interested in seeing how the temperature in my house and outside varies over the year so bought the WS8610 - but it's also a gadget so that was the second reason for the purchase! The following graphs show the average daily temperature and humidity data which I've logged so far, with records at my new address starting on the 24th of September 2007. The graphs at the bottom represent the data from my previous home. Charts are created using FusionCharts - great chart software. Hold your mouse pointer over the data 'dots' to see date and average temperature details.
Temperature logging has stopped due to a failure with the external temperature sensor. I have yet to get around to buying a replacement.
